serendipitous bloom
as the first trace of light lazily
descended from mountain peak
weaving through the
intertwined branches,
the creek began to
glow with sunrise,
illuminating
a single lotus petal
wandering downstream,
flitting in and out
of the sunbeams that
cut through the morning grey.
guided by a
sweetly-tinged breeze,
the petal veered slightly
towards me,
and with the current's efforts,
i found it afloat, still,
on the edges of the bank before me.
so gently,
i retrieved it from the
flowing stream
and held it up to
the golden rays where
the dew glistened
against the soft pink glow,
and i could not help but smile
at the sight of such
fortuitious beauty.
